Bodies in Translation: Age and Creativity

MSVU Art Gallery is collaborating with the SSHRC-funded project entitled "Bodies in Translation: Activist Art, Technology, and Access to Life" and the Nova Scotia Centre on Aging at MSVU. In keeping with the projectís focus on socially engaged creative work by artists who embody difference, the works in Bodies in Translation address various facets of aging, including age-related disability. Artists and artisans from the Atlantic region have been invited to participate.
Organized by MSVU Art Gallery, Bodies in Translation, and Nova Scotia Centre on Aging.
We encourage entries that address how experiences that come with age, such as aging with and into disability, can inspire alternate forms of embodiment, culture and art practice. The entry form provides further details. Those eligible to enter include artists and artisans who self-identify as older adults. Also eligible are artists and artisans who care for or assist the elderly, and those whose design work addresses the special needs of the aged.
